Experience Iceland with us.
Although most settlements in the North are called villages rather than towns, a few towns do exist. The first place that comes to mind is Akureyri, which is truly the center of the North. Husavik, a whale watching and Eurovision town, and Saudarkrokur in Skagafjordur are also fantastic places to visit.
I have to mention Siglufjord because I have a strong emotional connection to it. Siglufjordur holds a special place in Icelandic history for its herring fishing heritage, and visiting this beautiful and magnificent town is a must. There have been many municipal mergers in the North, and Siglufjordur is now part of Olafsfjordur. Two tunnels and a beautiful fjord, Hedinsfjordur, separate these towns.
It should be noted that the Arctic Coast Way connects all towns and villages in the Nordic countries.
