In recent years, a new type of accommodation option called “glamping” or glorious camping has emerged. It offers the experience of camping to those that prefer a little bit more luxury than conventional camping can provide.
We decided to try glamping when we recently traveled around the South. The glamping we tested is near Selfoss on the south coast, more specifically near Gaulverjabær.
It was a very enjoyable experience. The tent was spacious, heated as well as the beds. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The service building was very clean.
At the tent cluster was an old sheepfold that had been renovated for common facilities e.g. to eat together.
The surroundings were beautiful and five minutes away was a black sand beach. The weather was nice while we were there but it is easy to imagine the waves in windy weather.
