After waiting all the way from Reykjavik in uncertainty about how the weather would be in Ísafjörður and the nearby fjords, this magnificent view came to light when the Álftafjörður fjord appeared.
It is so amazing to stop the car for a moment to enjoy the winter afternoon view when the weather and the surroundings are calm, colorful and bright. No crazy north winds with thick snow piling up wherever there is a hole or ravine. No south winds with sludge that permeates everywhere and makes the entire environment dangerously slippery.
At this moment the sun was setting and after a short time darkness took over. It was surely a welcome Westfjords winter salutation.
