Talknafjordur is a fishing village half an hour drive from Patreksfjordur and a 6.5-hour drive from Reykjavik. Talknafjordur is by many considered one of the Westfjords most beautiful fjords.
Talknafjordur’s main economy is fishing, salmon fish farming and related services but in the past few years, travel services have played an increasing role in its economy. Talknafjordur is set apart from other surrounding fjords as it has geothermal heat, used for heating houses, fish farming, heating the swimming pool and natural baths.
