For the first time we laid our eyes on the famous Dettifoss waterfall. It was when restrictions were loose in the middle of last summer.
That day it was gray weather, the surroundings were gray with a touch of green and when we saw the raw power it was gray. The experience was not gray as it was magnificent to finally see that raw beauty.
It took a few minutes to reach the destination from the new road, but it was easy.
On the walk back we discovered another waterfall that is magnificent as well. The Selfoss waterfall is smaller than Dettifoss, but it is truly beautiful.
