The black sands on the south shores of Iceland is a magnet that attracts many tourists all year round.
There are a few years since we traveled the area the last time as can be seen in the photo of the village Vik in Myrdal that is on the other side of the popular black sands in Reynisfjara. We therefore enjoy a lot of the recent videos and photographs from the area on social media.
One phenomenon that started a few years back is regarding the plane crash on Solheimasandur. All of a sudden the old plane that crashed near Vik in Myrdal is a very popular subject. Maybe it has something to do with with famous pop star that once stood on the plane or it might be the fact that it is very photogenic.
