Mornings in the Westfjords are often magnificent and magical. When the day arrives and the sun begins to shine its light from behind the Snowy Mountains and on yesterday’s snow on the hills, mountains and shores is when the magic happens.
This morning was magical in the Westfjords. We decided to take a drive up and down the hills above Isafjordur Town, towards the Seljalandsdalur cross country skiing area, for a better glimpse of this bright new day. We do not regret it. The view was magnificent especially on the way down when the magic happened.
As you can see in the video there is a lot of snow in this area. And that bodes well for the Fossavatnsgangan international cross country skiing tournament that takes place on April the 16th – 19th.
After what feels like many days of wind blowing and snow falling this morning was a very welcome reminder that eventually there will be better days, brighter days and magical mornings.
