The Icelandic Tourist Board recently published latest data on tourism in numbers. There is still a downward trend compared to last year.
Between October 2018 and September 2019, 10.4% fewer travelers arrived in Iceland by air. Travelers from the United States weigh heavily as they decreased by 24.11%. It is interesting to see that the number of tourists from China increased by 12.8% in the same period.
There also appears to be a significant reduction in the number of tourists due to health-related activities or for commercial purposes. Migrant workers also decreased significantly, which is in line with cooling in the Icelandic economy.
The report from the Icelandic Tourist Board is open to all.
