There is a snowstorm coming. It is expected to be one of the worst storms in a long time. Rescue forces are in a state of emergency and people are warned not to travel unnecessarily.
In the Westfjords, bad weather is expected, but not as bad as predicted in the Strandir area or the North West. Snow is quick to accumulate in mountain ridges in such weather and there is a risk of avalanches at known avalanche sites.
You can feel the knot in your stomach when waiting for a storm like the one coming and the uncertainty is high. Will the storm be as bad as expected or will it mostly pass? Will meteorologists predict or lose their mark?
Until then, we wait and enjoy the Christmas lights that now adorn the town and city.
