It has taken many years for Iceland to bring the main roads of the country to a paved road and do not yet see the end of it, but it foresees the end of this dangerous gravel road.
This road crosses a heath called Hrafnseyrarheiði and is in the Westfjords between Dýrafjörður and Arnarfjörður.
This road has long been a barrier for both Westfjords and tourists. It has prevented normal transport between the main regions of the area.
Next year, 2020, new tunnel will make this road obsolete. They will, among other things, make it possible to view the magnificent waterfall Dynjandi all year and we look forward to seeing it in the winter costume.
