During our travels around the country over the past 15 years, we have occasionally taken pictures of interesting sculptures, statues and monuments. These works of art are often associated with local people or celebrities.
Some of these works of art are engraved in the national consciousness, such as the statue of Leif Ericsson, located in front of the church Hallgrimskirkja, or the statue of the King of Denmark in front of the Government House at Laekjargata in the center of Reykjavik.
My favorite artwork is Sun Voyager located by the sea near the Harpa Music Hall in Reykjavik. It is an incredibly good experience to come there and take pictures of it and the environment in all kinds of weather and light, even though a beautiful sunset tops it all.
